Barcelona are reportedly preparing to let go of several players this summer to generate funds for new acquisitions. Among those mentioned as potentially available for sale are Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Marc Casado, and Ferran Torres. In recent weeks, Roony Bardghji has also emerged as a player the Catalan club might consider moving on.
Bardghji’s first season in Catalonia, after joining from FC Copenhagen for €2.5 million last summer, has been a mixed bag. He has contributed two goals and four assists in 25 appearances across all competitions. However, due to the strong presence of Lamine Yamal, the majority of his game time has come as a substitute.
In March, Bardghji publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with his playing time, prompting Barcelona to evaluate his situation ahead of the summer transfer window. According to reports from Sport, the club is keeping all options open regarding the 20-year-old winger.
Barcelona’s stance is that Bardghji’s situation does not require immediate resolution before the summer. They are content with his performance this season. However, if the player is unwilling to accept a role with intermittent playing time, the club is prepared to sanction his departure, provided the offer meets their valuation.
€10m could be enough for Barcelona to sell Bardghji
Surprisingly, Sport has indicated that Barcelona’s minimum asking price for Bardghji is €10 million. If an offer in this range is received, club officials would seriously consider its acceptance, although the ultimate decision would rest with the player himself.
The likelihood of Bardghji leaving Barcelona this summer appears to be increasing. This would represent a blow for new coach Hansi Flick, given the promising performances Bardghji has shown in his limited minutes. Should he depart, the club would need to find a replacement, with the expectation being that this will likely come from their own La Masia academy.
